Hi and welcome to our forum

There is no good time to buy a van they stay pretty stable prices most of the year buying off e-bay or similar I would only reccommend to an experienced caravanner who knows what to look for .
At the end of the school hols some will come on sale privatley but dont forget when you buy a van it will want a service to check it out.

Most dealers will have some caravans at your price range to start you off and of course they will be checked and CRIS registered that is like your log book for caravan's

Come back for more help if you need to

Hi Mickqc

Probably November/December time, as the main caravanning season is over and people aren't really thinking about next year's hols. Unfortunately second hand vans are fetching premium prices at the moment. Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear. It really is just a case of keeping your eyes and ears open. Have a look at Www.adtrader.co.uk there are usually quite a few on there. If buying privately it's useful to take someone along who knows about vans and what to look for. I have some info on buying second hand. If you pm me your email addy I will forward it on to you.

Happy hunting and to the forum.

Hi Ellieh, I've just posted my introductory post. I'm in the same position as my girlfriend and I are hoping to buy our first van in the next couple of weeks to take ourselves off to France. I would be v grateful if you would be willing to send me your advice regarding buying second hand?

thanks!

But this only applies if you are buying a new van.

Devilish

go to B&Q and buy a damp meter and test every where including under the beds and all corners, also feel for soft spots in the floor when you walk through it.

good luck Ray
