Lothianbridge is a picturesque caravan park for tourers situated on the A7 near the historic village of Newtongrange in Midlothian. It is an ideally situated park with easy access to Edinburgh which is 7 miles to the centre and for touring Scotland's lowland and border towns. Onsite there is a modern toilet block with showers, baby changing, and disabled facilities plus a laundry room. The pitches (some hard standing) are all of a good size giving you plenty of space, fitted with electrical points. Adjacent to the site stands a hotel serving good food and catering for the family. 4 acre site under viaduct. On A7 4 miles from city bypass.Take A7 from Sheriffhall Roundabout on Edinburgh bypass. Has chemical waste disposal point. Does not accept double axel caravans.

Our view: Visited in 2005 and were inpressed by how well kept the site was, the facilities are excellant. Mixture of grass and hardstanding. Some tent pitches under the viaduct offer protection from the rain and there are many picnick tables. The site is otherwise

The Park has 4 different WC blocks with free hot water and a number of separate dish washing points.

Chemical disposal points have been specially adapted for easy use by those with cassette type units that normally need lifting and there are RV chemical disposal points too.

Slatebarns Caravan Park is situated in a sheltered, peaceful country setting, 3 minutes walk from Roslin village. Set in the woods of Roslin Glen on the doorstep of the famous 15th Century Rosslyn Chapel, there are woodland walks, golf courses, hill walking, swimming and a lesiure centre all within a short distance of the caravan park. You can also squeeze in some pre-season practice at the artificial ski slope 4 miles away.

Slatebarns is a family owned and operated caravan site with 30 pitches and a seperate small CL. The site is affiliated with The Caravan Club and Robin and Moyra Crawford maintain the same high standard that Club members have come to expect.

This site makes an ideal base for visitors to the Edinburgh and Midlothian area as it is a short distance from the city bypass and only 6 miles from Edinburgh City Centre.

With a regular bus service into and around Edinburgh, the stresses of city parking and driving can be easily avioded. Up to date details of bus times and routes can be found in the reception on site.
