| Located on the South West coast of the Isle
of Anglesey lies the charming family run touring and camping park Pen-y-Bont.
Set on 200 acres of beef and sheep farmland on a Site of Scientific Interest,
with magnificent views of the Snowdonia Mountain range, Pen-y-Bont is
the perfect rural retreat.
The site is situated near the Malltraeth estuary and is within walking distance of 1100 acres of pine woodland which is Newborough Forest. A section of the farm is salt water marsh land which habitats a variety of birds, particularly wader and waterfowl. Birdwatchers can still share the sightings which inspired Charles Tunicliff who chose to paint them so beautifully. He chose to spend the last thirty years of his life in Malltraeth. Within five minutes drive away are some of the most beautiful beaches on the island including Aberffraw, Newborough and Llanddwyn. Newborough and Llanddwyn are two of six registered Blue Flag beaches which can be found on Anglesey. There are many other attractions such as Anglesey Sea Zoo, Pili Palas, Ty Croes race track, Plas Newydd (National Trust), golf courses, horse riding, go karting, Beaumaris and Caernarfon Castle all nearby. The village of Malltraeth itself is within walking distance and has two hospitable pubs, a village store which should cater for all your basic needs, and a fish and chip bar. The Isle of Anglesey is renowned for its good weather. The isle is separated from the mainland by the Menai Strait, which is spanned by two picturesque bridges, the Menai Bridge and the Britannia Bridge . It is well known that there are very few places in the British Isles which have a better record for weather than Anglesey. |
